Guestbook
A holiday counts as one of the highlights of the year. You can relax and explore another country. To be able to make a good choice between the abundant amount of holiday homes available throughout the region, we have added the experiences of previous guests at our place. In that way you see what they liked about their stay here at La Cipière.
"We were delighted with the large garden and the safe swimming pool"
We stayed at La Cipière for a fortnight in the early summer of 2024. Jeroen and Corinne made us feel very welcome. They are present but very discreet hosts. We liked the country-style furnishings, the very complete equipment in every respect, and the shaded terrace with its garden furniture. The gîte is away from any hustle and bustle, in the middle of the countryside. What peace and quiet!
We were delighted with the large garden, with its mix of sunny and shady areas, play areas for young and old and the clean, safe swimming pool. The dovecote contains lots of information about the region and a playroom for young children. La Cipière is an ideal gîte for families.
There is no shortage of things to do in the region: prehistoric sites, the Lascaux caves, châteaux, typical villages along the Vézère or Dordogne rivers and, of course, the town of Sarlat.
Many thanks to Corinne and Jeroen for a wonderful holiday!
"On the property itself and in the immediate vicinity are plenty of child-friendly things"
We had a very nice stay at La Cipiere, we stayed in gite Rossignol.
Both the contact before and during the stay was pleasant and always quick response. The gite and everything around it is beautiful, and in the house everything is available (including e.g. everything you need in the kitchen). A high chair and cot were also provided.
There is a washing machine available for general use which was very nice with two small children. Both on the property itself and in the immediate vicinity are plenty of (child-friendly) things to do, e.g. the park Le Bournat was a success. Thanks for a great stay!
"The area surrounding La Cipière has a thousand interesting things to offer"
We spent eight wonderful days in the Dordogne in the holiday home le Hirondelle of La Cipière.
La Cipière is in a secluded location in a picture-book landscape near the river Vézère. The holiday home was a lovingly renovated former farmhouse made of natural stone. It was very tastefully furnished, the eat-in kitchen was very well equipped and a wonderful terrace with a view of the garden invited us to eat outside.
The surrounding huge garden was a small (or rather large) paradise, well maintained and designed in a very natural way. With large shady trees, a wide variety of flowers, a very well-kept pool area and attention to detail, a small paradise was created here where you can literally relax and unwind in a hammock. Although we had travelled without our (now grown-up) children, we immediately noticed the child-friendly facilities in the garden with swings, a boules court and badminton pitch, and there was even a little ‘children's house’ with toys.
For nature and culture lovers, the area surrounding La Cipière has a thousand interesting things to offer. If you are travelling from densely populated Germany, you will first of all enjoy the beautiful, non-urbanised natural landscape of the Dordogne and the peace and quiet that comes with it. Cultural and historical highlights include the numerous prehistoric sites just a few kilometres from La Cipière (in particular La Roque St.Christophe, Lascaux Cave), the countless fairytale castles and fortresses (e.g. Castelnaud) and the villages and towns with unique historical architecture (e.g. Sarlat, Beynac-et-Cazenac, Rocamadour). A canoe trip on the Vézère or Dordogne should also be part of the must-do programme to marvel at the impressive river landscapes from the water. An absolute highlight for us was a visit to the Gouffre de Padirac cave. Although this involved a slightly longer car journey, driving was absolutely stress-free due to the light traffic.
You shouldn't advertise this wonderful area too much so that it remains an insider tip, but we do this for our lovely couple Jeroen & Corinne, who were extremely friendly and helpful. As both speak very good German, it was always possible to have a nice chat.
Conclusion: If you love peace, nature and culture, you can live here like God in France.
"Versatile surroundings with lots to do."
What a fantastic view! Le Hibou is an atmospheric space with lots of comfort. There are many places of interest like castles, nice villages, beautiful gardens in the vicinity. Many opportunities for walking and nice challenges for the sporty cyclist. Pleasantly located large swimming pool.
"A wonderful region and a dream holiday."
The stay with you in the Périgord was particularly beautiful. Therefore I am happy to write a review for your website.
We were very warmly welcomed by Corinne and Jeroen. The holiday home "Le Hibou" is on the ground floor and very spacious. We didn't miss anything in the furnishings. The location is terrific, absolute peace and a great view into the distance. The whole complex is lovingly maintained, beautiful flowers and plants. In between, there are always areas with wild flowers, which are a paradise for bees, bumblebees and butterflies.
Corinne has a beautiful fruit, vegetable and herb garden. The pool area is fantastic - super well maintained and also surrounded by a variety of flowers and plants. Table tennis, badminton, darts, boules - you can play everything in the garden. Washing machine and barbecue are also available for the guests. Jeroen and Corinne speak German and English, among other languages, which was great! Jeroen has even written a hiking route in German. We did the tour and arrived at our destination 😊. The restaurant recommendations were also very good.
All in all it was a dream holiday, we can recommend the accommodation and the warm hosts.
"An ideal place for children.”
We were delighted with the week we spent from 15 to 22 July 2023 in the beautiful and comfortable gîte L'Hirondelle of La Cipière. We particularly appreciated your warm welcome.
The gîte is ideally situated between Les Eyzies and Montignac-Lascaux, also close to Sarlat. Ideal with our three grandchildren, who enjoyed the swimming pool and the swings, pétanque, badminton, table tennis etc. in your magnificent shady garden.
We would recommend this place to everyone, old and young.
"Hidden gem in the Perigord Noir."
The example of 'like God in France'. Beautiful, quiet and very spacious. On the hill but within 5 minutes you are in one of the beautiful villages that lie in the valleys.
Beautiful characteristic gîtes. Every comfort, lovely beds. Great facilities like the lovely pool and the versatile garden. Jeroen and Corinne are wonderful, sweet and hospitable.
Hidden gem and highly recommended for a nice holiday.
"Paradise in the Perigord."
We rented a gite in a town called Peyzac-le-Moustier - a thriving urban centre of 197 persons. We decided (because of our age and packing/repacking) to stay 2 1/2 weeks in one place and day trip. Good choice. What a marvellous place! Set on 10 hectares, overlooking a valley and rolling hills, it slows your heart rate and cures your sleep disturbances. Spring is fully engaged in this part of the world - so much so that we may just do a photo blog of all the amazing flora we are surrounded by. We settled in, seriously unpacked and fortified ourselves for upcoming adventures.
The view from our window at La Cipiere All the irises made Deirdre regret the fact that we cannot grow irises in Mexico. I will just have to take lots of photos of irises to bring back to Mexico for her.
"A lovely garden and a fine terrace."
We enjoyed our stay at gîte l'Hirondelle in the May holidays. A lovely place to stay for a family with two children aged 8 and 10. Lots of space inside; it was nice sitting both at the dining table and on the sofas. There is a television with countless channels. Nice that the cottage has a DVD player and the music system with Bluetooth is handy for playing our music from Spotify.
For us, the garden and terrace were a big plus. The children played a lot in the large garden. Swinging and of course hanging lazily in the hammocks. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a beautiful view over the garden. We liked the location of your property. Right in between the Vézère and Dordogne rivers, in a quiet location, with all the major attractions nearby. The boat trip in La Roque-Gageac was a super day with the cosy town. Domme was nice with the views, terraces and shops. Montignac and Monpazier were doubly lovely by visiting them on a market day.
Thanks for these lovely two weeks and who knows, see you soon!
"We enjoyed the view and the beautiful garden."
If like us, you can spend your holidays here at la Cipiere in May, you get lost in wonder.... We enjoyed the lovely gite with its beautiful decoration, the garden with the trees and flowers, and especially the beautiful view.
At any time of day, the view from the terrace of le Rossignol is beautiful, in the morning when there is mist that slowly dissolves with the sun, a little stroll along the plant borders at the front. In the afternoon, when the weather is fine, reading a book in a hammock in the shade of the trees, yes, what more could you want?
If you want to do some activities then you can take advantage of the many walks Jeroen and Corinne have for you and in the fields and forests there are also many flowers such as daisies, bellflowers, chickadees, orchids and salvias.
We also enjoyed the beautiful villages and towns, castles, gardens and canoe trips, in short, too much to do all in one week so we definitely want to come back to this beautiful area again!
"The beautiful pool with its lights at night was a beautiful experience."
We were warmly welcomed by Jeroen and Corinne, who gave us many tips on the area while remaining at a distance, which we really appreciated. We got to swim in the pool twice at night with the lights on while it was pitch black around us, a great experience.
La Cipière is located in beautiful surroundings where nature is abundant. We enjoyed the sunrise and the fantastic views from le Rossignol's terrace. The pool is a place where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful plants around you and the large field around it, ideal for children and adults alike.
The garden and arboretum are a pleasant place where you can also admire the sculptures Corinne has made. We enjoyed the authentic Dordogne with its legends and castles. We visited the castles of Marzac and Puymartin where they offer a game for children, an original way to enjoy an extra visit.
What is definitely recommended, a canoe trip on the meandering Vézère with the family on a hot summer day, where you have the coolness of the water and the shade of the trees. We enjoyed the gastronomy in saint Léon and the restaurant l'Essai in Sarlat.
We also got to know the history of the region better by visiting le Roque saint Christophe, la Roque Gageac and Domme. We also visited the gardens of Marqueyssac at dusk, which was beautifully illuminated by thousands of candles. In short, a very successful holiday.
"A really relaxing holiday."
We had a lovely relaxing holiday with the five of us and your hospitality at La Cipiere contributed greatly to this. It was a very nice spacious gite (Le Hibou) with good beds, a nice kitchen and a cosy living room.
The garden is great for relaxing in a hammock under a tree or interacting with the other guests, like during a game of petangue. But equally, there is plenty of space to keep to yourself. The pool was also a delight every day for the children to cool off or just have fun.
We also really enjoyed Corinne's sculpting course. In addition, there is plenty to do in the area within a short distance and all in beautiful surroundings.
We can heartily recommend your Gite
"For those who love peace, space and beautiful nature."
We stayed at L'Hirondelle for 14 days at the beginning of September. Beautiful gite, spacious , clean and fully equipped. Lovely to sit on your terrace or in the beautiful garden under the trees. The pool is super nice with lovely loungers. The domain is located in the country site, not far from many attractions, picturesque villages, castles, caves, rivers and beaches.
In short , for those who love peace, space and beautiful nature a must.
“Terrace with a nice view!”
We have spent a very pleasant holiday in the gîte Rossignol. Rossignol was spacious and well equipped with all mod cons. The gîte is attractively furnished, with a clean, new and spacious bathroom and kitchen.
The terrace is beautifully situated with a view over the valley and in the morning you can enjoy the sun. The garden offers plenty of opportunities to seek shade, or to rest in the hammock. The garden has a swing, a petanque court and a badminton net.
The gte is in a very quiet location, but there are plenty of places to visit in the vicinity (10-15 minutes drive). For example, we visited the gardens of Eyrignac and together with the owners we made a beautiful walk in the area. Jeroen and Corinne are hospitable and are ready to give tips about possible activities.
“The view from the window was super nice.”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Cipière. The cottage was equipped with the necessary comfort with a very comfortable kitchen and a very good internet connection. The pool and garden were a real added value. The gite is in a beautiful setting. The view from the window was super nice. Nearby were several nice towns and tourist attractions. We visited La Roque Saint-Christophe, the caves of Lascaux and Château de Milandes. The latter is highly recommended. The castle itself is a museum and the gardens are beautiful. Even with rainy weather, there are still various activities possible in the area. It was a nice week in a beautiful region. Maybe we'll come back again.
“We felt right at home there.”
The five of us have enjoyed a great holiday at La Cipiere for two weeks. On arrival we were already surprised by the beautiful view and the location of La Cipiere on top of a hill with a wide view at the front and behind a lovely area full of flowers, trees, plenty of play area and a beautifully landscaped swimming pool where we can spend a lot of time with the children having fun. Le Hibou is a nice, spacious gite, equipped with everything you need. We immediately felt at home. We also found the music evening that Jeroen and Corinne had organized with singer and guitarist and the other people present from the area very nice and atmospheric. Really enjoyed it! At La Cipiere you are located in the middle of just about all the attractions of the Dordogne. There is so much to do in the area! Nature, culture, history, being active, cosy places, good food. Something for everyone and certainly plenty to discover for us in the future.
Jeroen and Corinne, our compliments for what you have built up with La Cipiere. Your hospitality made us all feel right at home. On behalf of all of us, a big thank you and who knows… see you next time!
"We were able to spend a day sculpting, which was great fun!"
La Cipière is a great base for many activities and visiting villages in the area. We were everywhere within half an hour! Great!
Here also a small word from our 3 children: It was a beautiful, well-kept swimming pool and Corinne helped us tremendously with the sculpting in her workshop.
We thought it was great fun. When we left very early in the morning, we easily saw 10 deer on the way home. What a spectacle! We would love to come back!
“The sound of the roaring deer is overwhelming ”
What we found at and around La Cipière was even more than we had hoped for. The gîte (l'Hirondelle) was comfortable, equipped with the conveniences to which we are accustomed, had a good internet connection and, above all, bordered on a garden with the quality of an arboretum. Sometimes it was so difficult to choose from the abundance of TV channels that the best way to escape from it was to read a good book, which was also stimulated by the tranquillity of the surroundings.
The gite was also well situated for what we wanted to see. The Musée National de Préhistoire in Les Eyzies is nearby, as well as the ancient cliff dwellings of La Madeleine and Roque St. Christophe, castles such like as Commarque. And a bit further away, the medieval town Sarlat and the pilgrimage town Rocamadour can be visited easily.
The pleasant, non-coercive helpfulness of Corinne and Jeroen should also be mentioned.
But the first thing that will always come to mind when we think of our stay at La Cipière are the roaring deer. Is there anything that better demonstrates the tranquillity of an environment than animals being able to indulge their restlessness like that?
“The garden is very nice!"
We had a very pleasant stay; the Hirondelle gîte is very comfortable and well equipped (the washing machine is in a separate building which is a great idea). The garden is very pleasant (with a hammock to take a nap in the shade of a magnolia) and the swimming pool very comfortable; an ideal place to relax in peace and in nature, and watch the starry sky in the evening! thank you again to Jeroen and Corinne for their welcome!
"An ideal place for holidays"
Following our stay in your gîte l'Hirondelle, we again wanted to thank you for your welcome, your kindness, your discreet and pleasant presence. It is an ideal place for vacations, especially with children. You can really enjoy the outdoors, the garden is magnificent and the spaces available (badminton court, petanque, swing, children's playroom, swimming pool) are really appreciated.
You take great care to make your guests feel good. Beyond the lodging, the surrounding countryside is very beautiful and we appreciated being able to easily make excursions nearby (canoe, Lascaux, castles, etc.).
Boris, Emma, Timothé and me wish to thank you and wish you a wonderful summer.
"Many sites within a short distance."
We have spent a very pleasant holiday in the gite of Jeroen and Corinne. The welcome was warm and l'Hirondelle was spacious and well equipped for our family of four. The kitchen had everything needed and the children were delighted with the fast WiFi.
The large terrace immediately invited to drink an aperitif with a view of the beautiful and very large enclosed garden with plenty of shade where children can play safely. The garden has a swing, a petanque court and badminton net. The beautifully situated swimming pool with sun terrace offers a welcome refreshment on hot days.
The gite is in a very quiet location, but there are many attractions within 10 to 20 minutes. We have visited the cave village of La Roque Saint-Christophe, the cave “Gouffre de Proumeyssac”, the castles of Beynac and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle. The medieval village of Sarlat-la-Canéda is certainly worth a visit. And of course a canoe trip on the Dordogne along the beautiful old villages.
There is so much to do that a week was not enough to see everything in this beautiful region. That is why we certainly hope to return here.
“The surrounding villages are a joy”
We were received warmly on Saturday. We received all explanations about our gite and the area…. And before we knew it, we already took our first refreshing dive, and our children were already doing their dives in the beautiful pool.
Our gite Rossignol was tip top, and equipped with every comfort, you really will not be short of anything. Our terrace had a beautiful view, great to sit there to eat, or to enjoy a book. The domain also appeals to the imagination, truly beautiful nature… .. which fits perfectly with the rest of the beautiful surroundings; a fantastic region.
I also discovered this region several times with the racing bicycle, a lot of climbing, but I did enjoy the nature and beautiful views. Near La Cipière there is also a nice park, Le Conquil, .. where you will be taken back in time, and the children could climb in the trees on a course.
In short, we really enjoyed our vacation. Corinne and Jeroen are very hospitable people, who are always ready for a word of explanation about the region, or tips to discover the area. La Cipière is really worth a stay, and the surroundings and the surrounding towns are really to be enjoyed.
Thanks Corinne and Jeroen!!
"Highly recommended - a destination for sports and culture lovers!"
We were welcomed by the Dutch owners and introduced to our holiday home. These noble owners were also ready to talk to each other and told us about them. The apartment is part of a stylish, stylishly renovated house on a large domain area. The apartment has all the needs, WIFI and television contact with the world. An old stone house has its advantages and disadvantages: cold, when it is cold (including warm clothing) and cool when it is hot. The idyllic campsites in nature, but at the same time as the tourist attractions of the region, have fallen. In the evening, we could admire a fantastic dark sky, a fantastic starry sky. During the April, the swimming pool wouldn't take advantage of the swimming pool, but would consider it quiet. It's a holiday home in the nature with the view over valleys and forests, surrounded by a park-like plant. Aquitaine is the inland, down-to-earth, full of castles, stone-age caves from Lascaux to Rouffignac, with river (Vezère and Dordogne) and small towns like Sarlat. Cyclists and hikers will find pretty places to return. We liked it very much!
"The rooms are spacious and well maintained, the bathroom is very large and bright.”
In August 2019 we spent a wonderful family week with our children (4, 10 years) in La Cipière. After a warm welcome by the hosts we explored Le Rossignol: The kitchen is well equipped (dishes, pots, spices); WIFI works fine. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, the bathroom is very large and bright. You can eat both indoors and in front of the house. The pool is refreshing on hot days, the playhouse (with lots of toys) ideal if you travel with little luggage. Washing machine and clothesline are handy. The garden is beautiful, full of trees, flowers and games. We enjoyed the bakery delivery service, a dinner together to meet the other guests and a concert under the starry sky (thank you!). La Cipière is very quiet, the location is ideal: You can go hiking in front of the house or reached on short car trips countless highlights in the Perigord. The only downer: One week is far too short, at least 2 weeks schedule!
"A fantastic place in the Dordogne in a park-like setting"
Our stay at La Cipière was one of wonderful peace and relaxation. Jeroen and Corinne have welcomed us warmly. The gîte was wonderfully fresh, despite the warm outside temperatures. And our youngest was very much in love with her beautifully made 'princess bed'! Further distraction for both children and adults could be found in the beautiful large garden with nice play tower and the refreshing swimming pool.
The area is very suitable for beautiful walks, one even passes just behind the large garden. Jeroen is a barrel full of hiking tips and a trip with a donkey from the nearby donkey farm is also recommended. The region offers a surprising view or exit to caves, castles or pretty villages behind every corner. In short, we enjoyed a very pleasant stay.
“All in all it was a very relaxing stay.”
We want to thank you for the good reception. We had a great time in your lovely gite le Rossignol. We liked everything, the atmosphere of the house, the environment and the location of the house. The sights were a short distance from La Cipière, which is very handy with small children. They enjoyed the toys, the swings, running through the large garden and the swimming pool. All in all it was a very relaxing stay. With warm regards, the Eich family
"Something new & interesting to do every day"
We were received in a very warm & pleasant way by Corinne & Jeroen. Speaking of a dream location ... a beautiful view from a beautifully restored, but still authentic, gite. During the tour we were given all the necessary information and we were shown the beautiful swimming pool. The area requires beautiful, relaxing walks (already mapped out by the hostess & host). There are so many activities to do in the nearby villages - a perfect combination of nature and culture. Something new & interesting to do every day - caves, castles, charming villages - and culinary delights too. For us the 2-week holiday was a trip like "God in France".
"Holiday in the Botanical Garden"
Corinne and Jeroen received the both of us very nicely at the agreed time. Both are very welcoming, helpful and discreet enough to feel at home. Gîte Le Hibou is very spacious and comfortably furnished. The kitchen invites you to cook, the terrace to enjoy and in the beds you sleep wonderfully. WiFi and radio work very well, TV we did not use. The gîtes are surrounded by a beautiful garden with a variety of plants and trees, games and small artwork by Corinne. The swimming pool provides for some cooling down. The place is a perfect starting point for various activities. Forests, green hills, wide fields and numerous historical monuments. Dordogne and Vézére - two rivers that make you dream. Add to that the villages with their markets. Conclusion: a lot to see at short distances. Corinne and Jeroen like to hike and give helpful tips for hikes and bike rides (even without an e-bike!). Through the picturesque landscape of the Périgord Noir. 9 wonderful days during our 8-week Northern Spain / Southern France trip. Thank you for the hospitality.
“We have rented all 3 gites for a week for the family, 14 of us.”
What an absolute haven it is! We didn't want to leave. The gites are homely and welcoming with everything you need both inside and out to make a perfect holiday.
The land and surroundings are stunning. I made sure I was up each morning to sit in the beautiful window seat to watch the sunrise over the valley.
Corinne and Jerome are perfect hosts. They made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They gave us a wonderful family meal one evening and joined us, making it a fabulous evening about the history of the property and suggestions for the holiday. They organised an afternoon of kayaking for us all and on one afternoon they prepared a wonderful nature trail for our children. They also offered to set up a boules evening for us but we ran out of time! on the last night they booked a lovely local restaurant for us for a family meal.
The surrounding area is amazing and so much to do with the local markets, villages, gorgeous towns, chateaus, caves, rivers and countryside. Then of course is the cheese and wine!!!
Would recommend going to Sarlat for a day, I fell in love with it! Kayaking is great fun, but if you've not done it before I suggest 4km not 8. The children went horse riding and we went to the local swimming lake.
One unique aspect of the gardens was the unusual and beautiful sculptures around the property that Corinne has made. What a lovely touch and she is very talented. When we go in the future, we would love a pottery or sculpture lesson off her.
Our family had an age range of 4 to 54 and each of us have said it was probably one of the best holidays we have ever been on and was a wonderful property for a large family with plenty of space and different areas for everyone with the play house, pool, settings and different terraces etc.
Without doubt we will be coming back and would definitely recommend to anyone.
Thank you for a holiday of a lifetime.
"There is a lot of tranquillity on the domain."
We had a great stay with Corinne and Jeroen. We recommend them. We went to Périgord with our two children, 2 and 4 years old. It is a central place to access the various prehistoric caves, as well as the very beautiful cities of the region such as Sarlat, Périgueux or Bergerac.
The apartment is quite large and has all the necessary comfort. Our children loved playing in the large garden. There is a lot of tranquillity on the domain.
Corinne and Jeroen are very hospitable and very attentive as well as discreet enough to feel at home.
In short, thank you for this beautiful holiday.
"Thanks to your hospitality, it has been a wonderful holiday."
At the end of July, beginning of August, we spent a wonderful week in Le Hibou. The spacious gîte is fully equipped. Outside on the terrace we had delicious breakfasts (with the freshly delivered croissants and baguettes every morning) or in front of the house, waking up with coffee whilst overlooking the valley.
We enjoyed the garden with its diversity of trees and fauna (insects, lizards, bats etc.), and of course the swimming pool.
There is plenty to do in the region so that we had a great time. Thanks to your hospitality, it was a wonderful holiday. Thanks.
"A lot to see within very short distances and driving times."
Nice reception, nice people. Do you want a chat then this is possible, if you prefer to be on yourself then this is possible too! Everything was also provided for our small children, a cot and a high chair; for which thanks.
The gîte Rossignol is nice and neat. The kitchen is comfortable so you can cook something yourself. The gîte was fun, even with small children. The garden is very nice. This actually is true for everything on the domain: peace! The pool is not big but big enough for a refreshing splash. Because there are only 3 gîtes this pool is never full so you can always go here. Our children loved it. There is almost always sun at the pool which is definitely a big plus.
The region itself was the biggest plus we could imagine. This is definitely the strength of the domain. Much to see within very short distances and driving times. The cottage is not really in a village / city but in the middle between many attractions, a beach, nice villages etc. Absolutely recommended for everyone!
Thanks again Corinne and Jeroen for the very successful holiday!
"... the beautiful view over the green valley"
It was the first holiday with our 10-month-old daughter. La Cipière turned out to be well chosen! The large garden where she could crawl, the fine gîte with all amenities and the pool with comfortable sun beds, so that we could enjoy the sun when she slept. But above all the beautiful view over the green valley - enjoying a good glass of wine - made sure we had the real holiday feeling. Jeroen and Corinne received us in a beautiful and unforced way on their beautiful domain. We will hopefully come back again!
"The pool is clean and very pleasant on hot days."
The welcome was warm. The host and hostess are friendly and trustworthy people who can be contacted if necessary and still respect the privacy of the guests. The gîte was adequately equipped and spacious enough for a family of 5 (with some larger children). The domain is large. The pool is clean and very pleasant on hot days. The nature in the area is breath-taking and there are many activities for young and old (combination of nature, culture and adventure). A car is necessary.
Thank you, Corinne and Jeroen, for letting us enjoy your dream in France.
"In the morning the bread from the bakery is waiting for you."
Holidays at La Cipière are like coming home. At least, that is our experience. After the booking we have already asked many questions and received clear answers. The welcome was warm. In our gîte we got a clear explanation how everything worked. It was clean and the beds were made.
L'Hirondelle has a nice living / sitting area. Many books, a stereo system and a TV, where you can also connect your own hard drive. A complete kitchen with all the attributes to cook and eat well (plenty of plates and cutlery). And also a dishwasher for lazy people. In the morning the ordered bread from the bakery is waiting for you.
You sit privately on your own terrace with parasol. We had a view over the gigantic garden and could also see the swimming pool. This swimming pool meets all requirements and has wonderful sun beds. You can also play jeu-de-boules or badminton. Walking around the domain is also possible and definitely recommended. Watching deer in the evening is fun!
Montignac is a nice town next to the Vézère river. But we can also recommend Sarlat and St Leon sur Vézère. Castles plentiful (do not forget Milandes). And of course all prehistoric attractions in the immediate vicinity. The Dordogne is never boring, that is our experience. We have enjoyed La Cipière and are also considering going back. Thanks to the attentive host and hostess, not too intrusive, but always around for an answer to a question or just a nice chat!
"Stay of 1 week in a beautiful and quiet location."
Corinne and Jeroen have done a great job with the renovation of the house and the conversion into gîtes. Our gîte, Le Rossignol, is comfortable and has a special bathroom and bedroom. The enormous piece of land surprised us. We have made extensive use of the swimming pool. The region has a lot to offer ranging from castles, gardens, caves and picturesque villages. Also lovers of walking, cycling, canoeing can indulge themselves.
For us, a week was actually too short, we would have liked to stay longer. In short, highly recommended!
"The cottage was perfect and fully equipped."
Our stay was in Le Hibou, where we stayed with great pleasure. The cottage was perfect and fully equipped and more than that. It was beautiful weather so we appreciated that it was nice and cool inside because of the thick walls. The garden is wonderful and the pool was very nice to cool off. But also a nice place to read a book on a lazy bed. We have walked almost every day in the beautiful surroundings; also seen some nice villages and towns. But the best is the formidable view over the valley! La Cipière is at the most beautiful spot in the Dordogne! With our highly esteemed hostess and host we enjoyed our time there!
"It is super quiet and we have slept wonderfully."
We have spent 5 days here and were picked up from the airport in Bergerac by Corinne and Jeroen himself. There were some groceries ready because we arrived at the weekend. We had Le Hibou gîte. A nice big apartment with a nice courtyard where we could eat in the shade or in the sun. The gîte has everything you need. It is super quiet and we have slept wonderfully. The bedroom looks like a castle. It is advisable to rent a car directly. It gives freedom and you really have to explore the area. It is beautiful. We were able to go canoeing for a day, which is also worthwhile. Furthermore, we visited several villages and visited cave dwellings. The swimming pool at La Cipière is wonderful. So to summarize briefly. It is highly recommended and we will definitely return. Partly because of Jeroen and Corinne. Thank you for the hospitality!!!
"It’s like a botanical garden."
When I think back to the holiday in the Dordogne, I think of waking up with birds in the morning. From the attic window you look at the valley where the flowers and trees wait until they are warmed up by the sun again. You hear a buzz of insects. We took turns with the motor to the bakery in the village for a baguette. The grass tickles your feet and unfortunately we have not seen the snake. This is not just a gîte, it is an authentic traditional house with all modern conveniences. If you are in the shower in the large spacious bathroom, you understand what I mean.
Corinne is a pleasant hostess. She likes hiking and knows many routes in the area. I saw a deer on my evening walk around the 10 ha parcel belonging to the gîte. A walk in the garden is also possible. There are 125 trees of which 60 different species. It’s like a botanical garden. We also drove a lot on the motor. The Dordogne is also suitable for canoe trips. We were in a cave museum and you saw the canoeists pass by. If you like peace and nature, this is a real paradise to visit. Within 10 minutes you are at the tourist attractions, including many castles. And then the price-quality ratio. That is really bad, because it is far too cheap for the quality you get. Highly recommended.
